Does anyone know if Patojo Paz made it back down there from the states? he was at my house in Pennsylvania last week and wasn't due back there until tomorrow. I assume he went back early, but I haven't been able to get ahold of him.

Anyone else still trying to get through to phones from outside. Think they are jammed. Internal lines may still be OK. I got a text from my husband and he is safe. But can't call him back, just rings and rings. Try texting instead. Good luck to everyone and keep safe all of you!

most boats moved to the back side (west) not much on the east side, a couple way out but not much

be careful of the seas and the winds, find some board games, keep the radios on, keep spare batteries for the radio to stay informed on what is happening. don't run around outside

Jim / winston off the radio. back with updates at 3pm and 6pm

community focused no panic at all. winston has one window to nail up still :>

The NHC 11:00 EDT Discussion says, in part,

"THERE HAS BEEN NO SIGNIFICANT CHANGE TO THE TRACK FORECAST REASONING...MODEL GUIDANCE...OR OFFICIAL FORECAST. DEAN IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ON A TRACK BETWEEN WEST AND WEST-NORTHWEST...THE OFFICIAL FORECAST IS VERY CLOSE TO THE MODEL CONSENSUS WITHIN A VERY NARROW GUIDANCE ENVELOPE."

In other words, for now the eye is still on track to make landfall north of the Belize border. Dean continues to put on some size, however, and (on the current forecast track) hurricane force winds may occur as far south as B City with TS conditions all the way through the south.

I have an updated the discussion and images at http://galenaalysoncanada.blogspot.com accordingly.

The next hunter plane was scheduled for 12:00 Belize time, and we await the updated guidance.

Hold tight, all. We're all keeping our fingers crossed for ya. Lets hope for a Mitch-like diversion.

Uh huh. Yep. That was me.

I know the logical thing is to put all boats on the back side of the island, but if the hurricane hits north of the caye, will there be just as much danger on the backside because of NW winds. Sounds like a lose/lose situation and that stinks
