It looks from the maps that the eye is close to land. North of Ambergris Caye abit...but, this storm will make a wide swarth of damage. San Pedro looks like it might get water surge from the Bay of Chetemal. Hopeful, Dean will keep on trucking and not stall in the Bay. Fingers and toes crossed here in St Louis.

when they talk about "flying zinc," what do they mean? where does the zinc come from? buildings? does that mean metal?

Yes, many people use zinc for roofs. Not a good sign when zinc starts flying, people most likely are losing roofs. Some roofs are concrete, some are zinc, and some are other materials. Zinc is also used for other things, but roofs are one thing zinc is used for.
