The eye went north of Belize. Here is a satellite pic in motion with a map superimposed. Eye currently located over the north part of the Bay of Chetumal.

It's gotta be hitting Corozal/Consejo pretty hard.

Chetumal seems to be at the center of the action. Dean is continuing to move fast across Mexico and is expected to exit the Yucatan perhaps in the vicinity of Merida. Hopefully the fast movement will lessen the storm surge on the backside of Ambergris.

Windsurfing guy, eye of hurricane passed north of Belize and even north of Chetumal. The eye is losing its clear and large definition. Still lots of wind associated with it.

To all: I just spoke to Carlos at our house...located 4.5 miles north of San Pedro just next door to Rojo Lounge. He thinks that nearly all of the docks up our way are gone or at atleast severely damaged. In additon, palapa's, etc. are all flattened. It is too bad now to go down to the beach and check further damage. I will add a post when I next speak to him.

Reports from Coro at this time "lots of trees falling down", stones
(gravel) being picked up and peppering properties. Almost all
electrical power is off.

Ambergris Caye, 3 feet water, zinc (corrugated roofing) flying about.
Piers going down.

I just spoke with Mike Madrid, Chris Barenfanger's foreman. He's staying about a quarter mile north of the cut in some unfinished condos on the Caribbean side. Winds are still about 100 MPH, but the water is not that high.
