OK, here's Lena checking in...

I just got off the phone with Sittee River Village, south of Dangriga (north of Placencia). "Not even a normal rain storm" there -- quite anticlimactic..."a little breeze is all"...

(Now I feel like Chicken Little...)

Power there has been out for an hour or two for no specific reason -- probably just grid problems. (My source is running generator right now.)

The only downside to all this for us is that now people will be even less inclined to be responsible at the next warning >sigh<.

yeah, that's what i'm worried about. my family only grudgingly left CC. and this is only the beginning of the hurricane season. the "no problem, gal" attitude is nerve-wracking.

Info on CNN- Nice coverage of Corozal and live interview with Peggy Mueller. Sounds like the devastation is pretty intense up there, she lives back off the beach a few miles but still lost most of her foliage. Curfew is still in place there, and the zinc was still rattling on her roof, has been that way since 2AM. Her husband is a lobster fisherman. She commented on the fact that some people were walking outside and she couldn't understand why, with all the debris still flying around. Still experience high winds there.

For those looking to upload pictures:

Google's picture application is awsome.
http://picasaweb.google.com/

It makes it very easy to share images and I've never run into a bandwidth problem.

Flickr is very good as well.

It will also help so that bandwidth will not be eaten up from this board.

Pam - have you heard from Pablo? Thank goodness the worst of it is over and the island/country seems to have fared pretty well

I emailed the Weather Channel with my 'unhappiness' on their reporting about Belize. I've been watching and they haven't mentioned Belize once in the last 30 minutes or more! They keep saying that it is effecting Mexico.....no mention of Belize.
