I'm planning a trip to come down to AC on Sept.15 through Sept.22 and was wondering what the tarpon fishing is looking like?
Who would be the best guide to get me hooked up? Is there any size to the tarpon that they're catching?
How about snook and permit?

Check the archives from about a month ago for names. If no contact #s come up ask again. Couple of weeks ago we(4 of us) put 12 in the air, and boated 5. 30# to 65#. Permit are around but March is really better.

Son Steve and I were in San Pedro last Saturday>Monday and fished with Manuel Azueta. Steve lost a nice juvenile tarpon, about 15#, on a black beath, in the mangrove roots, but we did catch a bunch of bones on pink charlies. Saw a school of small permit but they would not hit "ANYTHING". Close but no cigar. Will try again in September and November.

I'll be happy to discuss my avatar with anyone who knows what it is.
