Planning a trip in late October and am looking for first hand review of this property. Also am interested if access to water is directly from beach or from a pier (due to reeds along shoreline.)

K,

We've ben staying next door (more or less) for a long time. I would not hesitate to send anyone to Caribbean Villas. The grounds are terrific and the location is great. Access to the water is off the end of a very, very nice pier that Caribbean Villas built. The owners are very nice people and involved with the community. You wouldn't go wrong here.

Thanks for the info. Can you predict what the mosquitoes will be like at Carribean Villas in late October? Also, are there reeds or grass in the water around the shoreline?

We will be there the 29th of October, just like last year. Skeeters will be pesky, but not as bad as they were last week. Some repellant works just fine.

There are few places in AC where there are not reeds or grasses close to the shoreline. The places that don't have them work on them daily. The reef cuts down on the normal surf action that would take care of such things. At the end of Caribbean Villas dock there is a huge cleared area bouyed off for swimming and snorkeling by the guests. It is like a huge swimming pool in the middle of the Caribbean. Plenty of marine life under the dock also.

Carribean Villa is just great. Nice grounds, great dock/swimming area. A very good location. Birding is of special interest at Carribean Villa. They have a "bird watchers perch", where one watch the birds on top of the trees. Great view of island.

One of the nicest things about CV is they kept the original littoral firest, and built around it. That makes for tons of birds, and incredible landscaping.

The beach is great, i play in the water there all the time...

Wil, Susan, and the crew there are aces also...
