Can anyone tell me how these should be completed so I can accept them in payment? I've been accepting them for years with no problems, but now I've had some Amex ones returned as worthless because "the signature is illegible". Since signatures are by their nature usually illegible I'm mystified.

COPY THE DL# OR THE PASSPORT # AND ADDRESS OF THE SIGNATORY ON THE BACK OF TRAVELERS CHECK. THE ISSUER OF THE CHECK WILL HAVE THIS INFO ON FILE IF ITS A US BANK

It's rarely rocket science, it's usually just math: then again if you can't do the math.......

Did all of that..... And of course they know who the cheques were issued to, so can check signatures. I'm wondering if this is an Amex scam?
