Does anyone have any info on how a non resident can get the required permits and license for a boat that was made in Belize. Thanks alot

IN THE SAME AREA OF EXPERTICE: DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW A NON RESIDENT CAN GET A PERMET FOR A BOAT NOT MADE IN BELIZE? TEMPORARY IMPORT FOR BETWEEN 6 AND 12 MONTHS.

If you have a reciept of ownership, you get it licensed through The Port Authority. You must have the name on the boat, running lights, first aid kit, life jackets, fire exenquisher,(SP?) anchor and ladder, and motor, they come around and register boats if you are in a hurry you can call the office in Belize City and pay for them to come over sooner. If you are a resident and your boat is on the smaller side, say under 20 ft, you do not need a Captains license,if it is for your own private use. however they are trying to change that, if you are not a resident I have no clue?????

Same for non residents, we have a couple of friends who have done it. But they are more than likely to charge you the duty on the vessel if it is here that long a period of time.
