I have visited CC several times but it has now been over two years since I have been there! Also, before my son was an infant, so my options for activities were somewhat limited. Anyways, now my kids are a bit older(2 and 4)and I need some ideas for activities I should plan. I will be there 11/22-12/3 staying at the Vega Apartments. We already are planning on the snorkeling thing with our friend who is a guide, but can anyone suggest any kid friendly activities? Also, as far as the ruin excursions go, are any guides more tolerant of families than others? Previously, I have always hired someone individually if we planned stuff on the mainland. Is this still the best option? Also, this may be a silly question, but I am I in for a shock, has cc changed alot in the last 2 years? Thanks in advance for any helpful info!

Hi jubliee:

Thanks for choosing Caye Caulker again. Most mainland tours are quite strenuous for toddlers and I would not recommend taking them if you plan to do that. Toddlers tire very quickly and you will tire yourself out trying to accommodate them.

That said, the half day Shark/Ray snorkel trip would be a blast for the kids. Rass Creek's tour is a slow, easy-paced one that the kids might enjoy. He is also a treat to watch with the sea critters.

Dorothy Beveridge also does an excellent bird-watching tour on the Southern part of the island. It is about two hours long.

Allie Ifield also does an excellent night time star gazing tour they might enjoy.

These are but a few suggestions. To be sure, you kids will be fully entertained by other kids on the island and they probably won't miss touring at all. After all, all it takes for little kids to be happy are other little kids to play with... which there are a lot of on CC.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much for the suggestions! The star gazing tour and birdwatching tour sounds awesome. Can you tell me the best way to book these activities? Thanks in advance.
