Increase in flights from Chetumal to the Southeast of Mexico
With direct daily flights from Chetumal to Cancun, Villahermosa, Veracruz, Guadalajara, and to Merida as well on weekends, the “ALMA” airline commenced operations some days ago, due to which the airport has seen its daily flights increased to six.
Oscar Olivares Ramírez, the airline’s promoter and Administrator in the capital of the State, explained that besides the aforementioned direct destinations, their flights also connect with the 26 most important cities in the country.
The flight schedules are as follows:
Monday to Friday Departing at 13:40 hrs. Cancun, Villahermosa, Veracruz and Guadalajara
Saturdays Departing at 19.10 hrs. Cancun and Villahermosa
Sundays Departing at 20:00 hrs. Cancun and Merida
He added that so far the demand has been acceptable, as they have sold up to 60% of the seats, when he didn’t reveal specific numbers due to marketing strategies.
Lastly, he said that they expect an upturn in flights next month due to the upcoming holidays - All Souls Day [Friday, Nov. 2] and the Anniversary of the Mexican Revolution [Monday, Nov. 19] -, and in December for Christmas and the New Year.
