Renting a private house North of SP. Is it against the law or frowned upon to have small camp fires on the beach?

If it is they need to arrest me. I burn trash and have fires on the beach quite often. I'm sure no one will care as long as your reasonable.

There are laws about fires, but of course they are in place to hopefully avoid catastrophies such as setting brush or homes on fire.

Chances are if you are sensible nobody will pitch a fit. Check on the following: - which way is the wind blowing? Is it blowing too hard? Is the fire contained? What are you burning? Coconut husks smell so yummy. Do you have a plan if things start getting out of control - buckets, hoses etc?

Are you cooking smores? Fresh fish?

Nick FYI, look in the mirror and you will see The fire department that will be responding to any out of control fire @ the house you are renting. The San Pedro F.D. can not get to most areas north of the cut so you may be on your own if things get out of control. The wind is often strong off the ocean at night.I have to use my BBQ grill on the rear veranda because the wind usually will blow the flame out on the oceanfront veranda. Be safe and aware of the campfire's surounding area and you will have a great time.
