Nope! Very laid back and casual in San Pedro.

elegant dinner attire is sandals, shorts and shirt. A Jimmy Buffet kinda place.

Are you male or female? It depends how you like to dress and where you intend to go. I like to where a cute dress out now and then.

I like to have one dress everywhere I travel.

What looks good (and I imagine feels good) is a long dress made of very light satin material. Looks smart if you want to go somewhere special (or just look special wherever you go), and is good at keeping the sun off.

Today is wet, cold and very blustery, and jeans and a fleece would be more appropriate. But this isn't normal!

Sorry - this assumes you're female. If you're male and want something other than shorts, long trousers/pants made out of a lightweight absorbent material (eg linen) would be good. But mostly just wear shorts. A golf shirt always looks smarter than a tee, and for the occasional cold evening bring a light sweatshirt. Don't forget a large baggy weatherproof top - the more tent-like the better. Often when it rains it's still very warm and humid so you want lots of ventilation.

&nbsp Hi dka,
there are several upscale establishments on the island where I'd not feel uncomfortable wearing a tropic weight sportcoat. I know Linda likes to dress up and I suspect that she's especially fond of buying a dress for any excursion. So, the short answer is, yes, you can bring a set of your finer duds if you have the luggage space. I don't think that there are any places that have a dress code, so it's up to you.

Just make sure that satiny material is really breathable.

For females, a gownless evening strap always makes a statement. grin

I agree with KCJ, it does make a beautiful statement.
KCJ - we might get beat up for this.
