okay, this has been interesting reading and thanks for some of the answers, I can read between the lines. We have booked our trip and will be staying at the Seacluded. We are considering renting a cart so we can run into town when needed. I think we fall in between those Northenders that like their quiet (although maybe not right now with the construction) and we also want the opportunity to visit the local bar scene and meet locals and visitors alike. We plan on a lazy bbq on the beach, great dining, as well as some night time fun in SP. I hope we have chosen a location that will provide the best of both worlds! I assume we can cart or walk back easily enough without having to ferry. Is this true?

You will need a cart or at least bicycles, the walk will be too much.

We walked back from town to Captain Morgan's in the evening several times the week we stayed there. We didn't have the patience to wait for the ferry/water taxi. We are 52 year olds and in average shape and it was no problem -very enjoyable actually and that was after a few beers!
We actually made it back to CM just before the water taxi and that was after stopping in at Capricorn for a drink.
