There were a couple of us who wanted to set up a blog with a league table of twenty or so staple products and the cheapest places on the island to buy them.

But then it was pointed out to me that prices are highly dependent on supply, demand, when the last boat came in, the weather, you name it.

So it got kyboshed. Still think it's a good idea tho...

SuperBuy on Back Street is generally pretty cheap as well. And San Pedrano, at the top end of Front Street.

I used to keep a note book and would track what was priced at which stores but have not kept it up.

I like Santiago Castillo Super buy Big tree Green House to name a few.

Biggest tip no matter where you shop (even pharmacy) always check expiry dates.

Inkblot - you know, the reasons you list are actually reasons to create such a blog, not reasons not to create such a blog. Your concern (I'm guessing) is that the prices change quickly and arbitrarily. That will insure - for example - that store owners will alert you to changes in their prices, and so will users.

How about "San Pedro Market" on Sandpiper Street? Seems to be the closest to Paradise Villas. Or am I looking at an old map?
