I had a very pleasant surprise while jogging North a couple of days ago. Behind Costa Maya someone has developed a Nature trail to the back. I'm asked questions about 5 times a week by birdwatchers like, 'where do I go to see a Mangrove Warbler?', this Trail through the Mangrove leads to the lagoons in back and is well maintained. Its entrance is accessible by Golf cart but just to the entrance, its a foot path. I saw local orchids and some sensitivity in not clearing berry producing brush that is food for birds, and someone has dug a shallow spot so the birds can access fresh ground water. A very cool thing to do for the Island. Kudos to the Costa Maya Management.
FYI mangrove warblers are found in the Mangrove :-)
