Hi there - does anyone know when they plan to extend electricity/water out to Ambergris Bay?

to hear all the talk of development everywhere - it wont be that long. What property are you looking at?

Ha ha ha. Some areas within half a mile of Town don't have water or sewage.

Actually, we bought a lot on Ambergris Bay about a year and a half ago. If nothing else, it's a great excuse to keep coming back for a visit!! We're going to be in SP on Sat and we're bringing my wife's parents with us. I'm sure we'll toodle over there and take a peek.

I was wondering if any of you "insiders" had heard rumours, innuendo, or complete outright lies smile

Ambergris Bay is a really great area. I like the calm waters and the beautiful sunsets. Good move on your purchase. It's always smart to get in before the infrastructure, if you can wait a few years (old fogies need not apply).

Old fogies invest for their kids and grandkids.

I also have a lot on Ambergis bay and when we originally started looking about 5 years ago there was nothing for sale on that side then 2 years ago we bought. When I told people (on this board) every one said I was crazy because of the sand flees or leaches and that it would take 20 or more years to see any development? I am glad to hear the opinions are changing. Any one know about the real estate taxes over there? Like are they due yet? Last year I was told - not in the computer yet? Not exactly like Chicago!! (and I am glad).
