Massey Hall is still open and is a great venue to see a concert. I had the priveledge of seeing Prince there a couple of years ago and was only about 20 feet away.

The gasworks is was unfortunately a victim of the death of the rocker bar - now the young folks prefer to hang out in the "club district" around Adelaide West. The Brunswick House is still going strong (although I have not been there for years and not sure Irene is still working downstairs). The live music scene is alive and well in this city and that is one of the things I like about living here.

Now that we are "older" we like some of the bars on College Street - lots of live bands a bit more our speed.

I'm not sure of the question?

I was there with Genesis in 72, then Tull and Gentle Giant in the late 70's

"the band kicked a** that night, and became one of the biggest selling acts in Canada for many years afterwards" That band, I assumed it was one you were involved with. Everyone seemed to be a fan of Genesis in Canada back then and they helped inspire some great Canadian prog-rock bands. FM and SAGA come to mind as a couple of my favourites.

Actually, the Massey Hall show was Genesis' first show ever in Canada.

Foxtrot had been released, but Genesis Live was recorded in spring 72 on the English leg of the tour at Manchester and Leicester, (even thought the album cover picture was taken at Princeton University on the North American Tour!)and Selling England was recorded in Fall 72 and so the "conquest" of Canada and the rise of the bands popularity started with the Massey Hall Show!

Ok Pugwash, color me confused! Are you saying you were a musician with Genesis or in another band playing there at the time? Either way, what a great road you have traveled!!!
