Sun&sand, I hope your marriage continues to be all that you believe it is. I hope you never have to suffer any indignity, mistreatment or betrayal in any aspect of your life. In my experience, many very good people make very poor choices. The fact that others are so quick to condem, ridicule and belittle them says much more about those people than it does about the transgressors. I'm not saying there shouldn't be consequences, I'm just advocating for treating people with some decency instead of rushing off to judge them because they don't live up to your "moral" standards. Sort of that "let (s)he without sin cast the first stone" concept. And whatever your view of someone else's actions, it diminishes all of us to refer to another human being in terms such as "skuzball."

As for your snide comment about my job, I'd gladly trade it in for a world where everyone did the right thing.

Really Dangerous Liaisons
By TRACY QUAN

AS a former sex worker, I’m puzzled by what is reported to be Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s preference for the riskiest form of indoor prostitution I have ever experienced. Escort agencies are constantly being investigated, infiltrated and spied on.

I worked for two escort agencies when I first started in the sex trade, and both were closed down — not by Mr. Spitzer, but under circumstances that he would recognize. I was terrified when the police raided the apartment that served as a booking office for the second agency. Those of us who were not arrested endured petty racist comments from the officers for about two hours.

I chose to work for an escort service because I was young, starting out in a precarious industry, alone in the city and, like those hapless customers who are arrested in street sweeps, without connections. Working for an escort service was a way to earn my living and keep a roof over my head. But when the chance to work for a madam with a steady supply of reliable clients arose, I was relieved.

That someone like the governor would shop for sex through an Internet escort service is mind-boggling.

Escort services are risky. When they are closed by the authorities, people’s lives are turned upside down. Many of us don’t recover. As one call girl told me when I was looking for a safer way to work, “If you get busted, I don’t want to know you.” Nobody wants to work with you if you’ve been in visible trouble, nor is just after a raid the best time in your life to start looking for a more conventional job. A conviction will sink your chances of getting hired.

I’ve never been in favor of arresting and shaming men who pay for sex. Most customers who get in trouble aren’t high-profile politicians like Eliot Spitzer. Their “crime” is that they’re poor or getting started in life.

Well-connected men, however, have typically sought out sex workers who have been recommended by their friends and who don’t have Web sites. Escort agencies are supposed to be out of the question for old-school rakes who want to protect their marriages and careers.

In my experience, a sense of personal connection in these customers’ sex lives makes them feel safer. Not all sex clients are junkies for risk or adventure-seekers. Many are cautious and can’t enjoy sex unless they’re in a calm, secure environment.

After the Spitzer news broke, Alan Dershowitz explained away Mr. Spitzer’s ill-advised choice by making silly generalizations about men who pay for sex — that they don’t use their brains. But I encountered plenty of men who used their brains just fine.

From all accounts, Eliot Spitzer doesn’t seem to be one of them.

Well, Leah Ann, if trophy's were handed out for snide remarks, I think you would need to add on to your new home to accommodate all of yours. But, that's another topic. And, I will not defend my marriage to you. I doubt you would understand this type of relationship, anyhow.
I think it would be a perfect world if everyone believed the same, acted within the boundaries of the law, and never behaved in a way that was disrespectful to any other human. In this perfect world, there would be no need for laws, attorneys or the justice system. The religious leaders would be able to sleep in on Sundays (or what ever day your services are) as there would be no need to teach the goods vs evils. But!!! wait a minute...it ISN'T a perfect world, is it? We are exposed to both good and evil. We are expected to behave accordingly, in a socially acceptable manner, knowing there are reactions to every action. We CHOOSE to make whatever decisions we make. Unless there was a threat of bodily harm to him or his loved ones, he made a choice to do what he did, knowing there would be repercussions if he was found out. He lied, he hid funds, and he used his friends as covers. Sounds like he just thought he was above reproach, the laws and rules applied to others but not him. And, unfortunately for him and his family, he was caught. Now, he has to pay the price. And, I still think he's a skuzzball.

At what age is it determined I am old enough to know better?

True that Susan, and I will "quote" your quote as far as the response of "we CHOOSE to make what ever decisions we make", but sometimes through the "un-seeing" eye and mis-guided perceptions, the "truth" is not always readily available.

Some people are led to the belief of what "others" deem as the truth, because they are completely mis-informed, or lack the knowledge to gain the insight of reality..

That being said, no animals, politicians, or slimeballs were harmed in the making of this post....

Lighten up people... it does not affect our lives in anyway, shape or form.. if it did,,,,,burn him, but since it didn't, go to Sunday school class and thank the heavens you aren't having to put up with that.... and if you are having to put up with that mess. Kick them to the curb..

The beauty of our right to Freedom of Speech is the fact that we can participate in a good old fashioned debate. I don't think the topic has to affect your own life in any way. My dad and I do it often and one past discussion months ago was the NY Gov aka Spitzer.

To me, everybody is entitled to an opinion and we all have varying opinions in one degree or another. That is what makes the world such an intersting place!

That being said, if you are interested, do a seach on past articles in the Wall Street Journal re Spitzer. It is well documented he is considered a political bully, he proposed issuing driver's licenses to illegal aliens (a proposal I strongly disagree with, even though I live 3k miles away from NY), has been investigated numerous times and underwent an ethics probe. He has managed to wiggle his way out of these issues, but left a bad taste in the mouths of many.

Humans are NOT a monogomous race especially men, and any woman that truly beleives her husband has never cheated on her is living in a fantasy land cause the truth is he most likely has cheated, you see men like to have a woman at home but like to eat out every now and then, but he will surely come home for some home cooking but for sure he wants a takeaway every now and then.

works the other way round also

Just watch a few episodes of cheaters and you will see the reality of life.

Just my opinion

Oh by the way I dont see nothing wrong with protitution it should be legalized and regulated as it is in a few countries

Have a great day

CROC, should I phone your wife? Let me guess, you don't have one? I get the concept that "opinions stink..." but this one just plane reaks!
