I put money on that the culprits name is Alberto HU he already got caught red handed in someones house a few years ago and still got away with it (thanks to his gringo employer getitng him a lawyer) in the court system even though he was identified by several people as to being the person caught RED HANDED in the house.

He finally got fired by the gringo when he stole from him and conveniently moved down the beach and was employed by another homeowner

this is his M O all the way stealing little items and entering premises multiple times just taking little things he had 97 items in his pocession when they searched his house last time.

Hopefully the courts can put this scumbag away this time for a long time he is way overdue however based on the resport I beleive they can only do him for handling stolen goods which he has been done 4 times previously and fined just $150bze

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH
CATCHES THIEVES

On Saturday a home owner in the Tres Cocos area saw a young man coming out of her downstairs unit. He told the homeowner he needed a drink of water and to use the bathroom. The homeowner grabbed her camera and took a picture of the man and then walked down the stairs, and took another. She then stated to the man that she would find him if he ran, she had his picture and he would be stopped. The homeowner demanded that the suspect empty his pockets (which were many), while her son called the police. When he did she grabbed his hand that held her cell phone, charger and his wallet. The man begged her not to call the police.....he begged her to give him is wallet back and let him go. He then charged her to get his wallet.
The home owner then ran across the road. The neighbor across the road came to her assistance and helped her keep the suspect there for the police to arrive. In the meantime a young man who had been in the yard with the suspect had ridden away on another bicycle.
A local passing by on a bicycle stopped to help with the suspect until police arrived. People traveling on the road joined in the search. People came from all directions; two even came through the bush. The suspect was surrounded by a yard full of angry neighbors. The police responded in a reasonable amount of time and took him and a bicycle away in their pickup truck.
In the meantime information had come in about the whereabouts of the other man. He was a caretaker for a beachfront property not far from the scene of the crime. The homeowners quickly called from town to say they were at their condo in town and that the suspect had just returned to work. The police were notified and the suspect picked up for questioning. While in custody the homeowners gave the police permission to take the second thief back to the beachfront house and search the premises with him. The police searched a boat that was stored on the property and found a large stash of stolen goods.
Recently there had been a rash of small items missing from homes, condos and resorts. These incidents were reported to the North Ambergris Caye Neighborhood Watch (NACNW) and the police. It had been mostly small items; such as lap top computers, cameras, i-pods, cell phones, jewelry and misc. electronic equipment; things that easily fit into baggy cargo pants pockets. These had been taken a few at a time on a fairly regular basis. Some even went missing while people were on the premises. Those who have had something stolen may go to the police station to see if any of their items have been recovered.
The owner of the beach front home was shocked to learn that their caretaker was a part of this burglary ring, and in her words, "We were used as a front". They urged home owners to beware of all activity on their property and to periodically check inside their bodegas and caretakers quarters. Ask questions!
NACNW is an active group of neighbors who have been meeting for over ten years. Four other Neighborhood Watches have begun being organized on the island. The BDF is back in full force and will hopefully be stationed on Ambergris Caye permanently. The police are well under way patrolling the waters of Ambergris Caye by boat, both the front and the back side, day and night. There are Special Constables being elected to have more police support on the North and are secretly located through out the North and strategically placed for assistance. "This sort of behavior and crime activity will not be tolerated," the acting president of NACNW stated emphatically. "You will be caught and you will go to jail."

The name of the one caught on the premises is Mario Aguilar from Belize City. I don't yet know the name of the other but will find out. We want to make it very public that we will fight back.
