I don't have their phone number, but I just wanted you to know that most people were evacuated to the schools up on the hills.

Announcer on Orange Walk radio stated at 5:30 that he had just talked to
fisherman who told him the low tide in Corozal Bay had reversed and water
had gone up 3 ft in 2 hours. This means the surge is coming.

So I jumped in the car to check the boat. Guess what -- the water level of
Corozal Bay is still about equal to those "hard" low tides we get during a
strong El Norde that I saw at noon.

So what gives??

I get in the Car in Xaibe -- very light drizzle -- low winds. I get to
Corozal and their is a real rain going on -- and gusts of breeze -- some
quite strong. More than anything we have seen to this time!

Get back to the house -- raining and gusts in Xaibe. We are passing out
from under the tropic storm band.

We'll see how long this lasts.

Peter Singfield

PS no Alfonso Alcala in 2000 phone book either..

You can try this #22625 for Alphonso Alcala. The # is under "Corozal Farmer's Supply". Wish you luck. Hoping to hear from my family too."Castillo Javier, Rick and Eleanor and family.
