So I have the fly rod and flys but now I was wondering where some of the good spots to try fishing for the Bones. I have seen people fly fishing around Captain Morgans so I will start there. But are there any other good spots to try.

Caught most of my fish just north of Shark's Bait. Mid-day, by Robbie's (I think), straight out from a fence/wall with some graffiti on it. Fished the sand breaks between patches of sea grass. The two I lost were in the blue water just off the public beach - nice structure to fish between the old cement pier and the sand bar. Had no luck anywhere south of Sharks except in the beach area.
Get your line in the water, they're out there.

It's been awhile since I've fished the shore up north. But, "Generally" most piers have been dredged out to a certain extent to accomodate the boats. You should find bonefish moving in and out of those deeper areas. On a sunny day look for the flashes in the water. Check first with the pier owner though. They may have placed artificial reefs for their snorkling guests and not appreciate you fishing them.

When is the best time of the year to catch Bones fish from shore?

We were there in Dec and 4 mornings of fishing, caught around 15 Bones. Was stripped 2 times on bigger fish. Had to stop fishing because I had no more fly line and it is big bucks on the island. So my suggestion to anyone that plans on fly fishing, bring extra lines and flys. Thanks to all that added to this thread

Thanks for asking this question hunter...............very helpful posts. I'm looking at two rods to purchase one is a sage fli 4 pce 1090 10wt rod and the other is a GL3 9 foot 9 - 8 wt they both come with anodized large arbor reels and floating line with different rio tips. Which rod would be a better choice?

Can you get fly tying material on a.c or should I try to cover the supplies for my recipes here in Canada?

Blue: Both rods you're looking at are good rods. However, I'm not crazy about a 10wt for BZ bonefish. For the most part they're small 2# critters, and a 10 is overkill.
The 8wt is more appropriate but the extra 9" can be an issue in the wind. What's your price range on these outfits? The reels are really unimportant provided you can get a couple of hundred yards of backing on, which sounds like Hunter's issue.

Just found out the G Loomis is sold He had two islander reels with it and only $500 for the whole works, case included and line. Rod had walked out the door just as I called. The other one 10wt sage is a nice pkg just sounds like too much rod, it's only $450 rod, reel, lines, rio tips. He used the outfit only once in the tropics, some of the tips are unused. I was looking 2nd hand for good stuff my budget is around $500.
