I've been to Caye Caulker several times but never in the summer (June/July). I've heard horror stories about the sand flies then. Any insights? Would hate to get there and then be under constant assault. Thanks much.

Use baby oil, they drowned in it.

Exactly...and if you have a foot bath to rinse the sand off, use a couple of drops of baby oil in there too...for keeping them off your feet and it also keeps misquitos from laying their eggs in the water.
