Hi all, I am trying to plan my first trip to AC and could use a little advice. I would like to stay at a inexpensive hotel $50-$65 an night but would like to be on the beach and close to the night life. Can anyone give recommendations for Ruby's or Lily's or any other place they could recommend. Thanks all, reading this board has been very helpful.

Stayed at Ruby's twice now -- love it. Close to everything -- great staff. If you can, 3rd floor beachfront gets you away from any noise and you are set!
I will have a Belikin -- put it on klcman's tab.

2 of us were at Ruby's in March for 10 days and it fit us perfectly. $60 US for the two of us. Room is basic, needs a little maintenance but clean. They clean everyday, change towels every 2 days and sheets every 3 days. We had ac, but never turned it on. Otters right, 3rd or second floor much quieter. We stayed on the first floor (room 23, yes on the first floor). It was a little nosiy at night (stumblers down the beach) and early, 6 a.m., for the breakfast group. They have a deli with coffee, johnnycakes, sweets and fruit. Never a security problem. NO TV or phone, but we didn't need it. To much to do outside. Can't beat it for the money.

Thanks for the help guys, I was leaning toward Ruby's and you guys helped me make up my mind. Ruby's sounds like it is the place for us.

Plus, Ruby's has early breakfast foods and a great view to drink your coffee.

at Rubys you get a bed, light and bathroom. thats all. No tv, No phone, Nothing else.Rooms nothing more than old leftover furniture. Do not plan on spending any time in the room. Only good for sleeping and bathing. I had 2 nights paid for there 2 weeks ago. When I opened the door to room #20 I threw the keys on the bed and never returned. Got a great room down the street for $60.00/night with A,C., 80 channel DirecTV, Pool, Bar, Resturaunt and everything changed daily. Live misic on the weekends. Just my view, everyone has different standards.

HB Glen,
Was it one the beach? Can I ask what the name of the place was? Thanks for the input. I really don't spend alot of time in the room but I like to keep my options open. Thanks again.

I ended up at Coconuts, a little past the Casino. about 1 mile south of town. On the beach, great staff. Front office closed 8PM -7AM. resturaunt open for a few hours in the morning then closes until dinner. then the bar and resturaunt open in the afternoon untill after dinner. will not be open late at night but will stay open if there are customers. Hope this helps
