Hi Guys,

I'm arriving at BZE hopefully at around 2pm next Friday. I really wouldn't like to spend another $100 to take a flight to AC. How are the water taxi's or ferry?

spend the money ! you have to take into account the very expensive taxi ride from international airport to water taxi terminal in Bz city and its a hassle all round.
unless of course you arrive early in the day and want an adventure before dark and then... well it could be fun.

Here's a thought from another tourist. Elbert's right. $25 cab to the water taxi terminal. Undetermined wait at the terminal for the next boat. 1.25 hour ride to San Pedro. You're getting there late enough that I'd just fly.

I enjoy the water taxi to Caye Caulker but not the extra ride to Amberbris.

I'm coming to AC for my first time next month and one thing I'd read is you can take the $25 cab ride to the municipal airport and pay a little less.

Looking at Tropic Airs site for 2 people it works out as:

From Municipal:
Airfare $31.50/ea + $25 Cab = $88

From BZE Int'l:
Airfare $57/ea = $114

So there's a savings of only $26 dollars.

However, my girlfriend mentioned the cab ride might provide us a chance to see some of Belize City before heading off to the island.

Is there anything to see on this cab ride or should we just take the flight from BZE to AC?

Thanks!

Certainly, you'll get to see a bit of what the city looks like.

Just get on the flight from international to AC. Most flights leave the states really early and you will be too tired to check out the city and you see very little of it during the taxi ride. And it is so freshing to get here, you will love stepping off the plane to San Pedro.

Pam -

That's kinda what I was thinking. We'll be there for 12 days June 14th-26th, so we'll have plenty of time to see the City before we depart for home.

The city is interesting and people love it or hate it but San Pedro: the reef, the people, the food, is mind boggling

It's worth it to spend the money - Maybe fly over to AC then on your return you can do the water taxi.

...or vise versa. We like to take the boat over and maximize our time by taking the plane back. Done that twice and it's very nice.
