Costa Maya Reef Resort

Is it really difficult to travel from the north end of the island to San Pedro? Or what's the simpilest, easiest way to travel back and forth to San Pedro for eating and such? Car/golf cart, water taxi?

Second time to Ambergris Caye , first time we were divers, stayed at The Victoria House. Dove out at Playacar islands, awsome. Too old to dive, but can still snorkle.

Thanks, Wayne

Not sure how far north Costa Maya is from the bridge north of SP, but I drove a golf cart about 2 miles N this week before I turned around. We did a dive with some people who stayed at Belize Legacy (and they loved the place)who rode bikes to town, and took the water taxi back, way too hard a bike trip and they were in their 30's.

Bikes, golf carts, and street taxi are preferred transpo in the general area of San Pedro and south, if you choose to go N of SP by more than a few miles I think water taxi is preferred.

Wherever you are within reason, dive and tour operators will pick you up. We have had especially good experience with Suya Tours and Carlos the owner. He provides an exceptionally good experience with a great group of locals who really seem to care about showing you a good time. Best of luck with your travels.

From Costa May you can get a weekly pass for the Island Ferry - Only way to go from there!
Never too old to dive!

We love it up at Costa Maya, have stayed there twice and booked for our 3rd time. If your into snorkeling, Mexico Rocks is right there and they have kayaks you can use to go out there and snorkel to your hearts content, Kirk will make sure you know how to get in/out of the kayak before you go. Scubaldy is right, the Island Ferry Pass is the only way to go! We go to town daily when staying there.
