I have our family's annual dive vacation scheduled for Ramons Xmas-New Years. I was wondering if the reefs have been damaged by Keith's swells, sand being dumped on them. Also, by Xmas do you think that AC would be a pleasant place to chill and dive by then? Hard to get a true opinion from resort personnel or dive shop owners, they have much to lose. Are all the palm trees gone? I've worked in post hurricane zones on disaster crews. My internet connection is too slow to download pics. there good shallow diving for my teens? Thanks for your impartial advice and good luck in the recvery efforts.

P.S. I must decide Monday whether to transfer the vacation to Cozumel, but I am worried about currents.

You don't need to change plans. Just read that the reef is in good condition as Keith came from the backside. You have to know these incredible San Pedranos! San Pedro WILL be ready for the visitors very, very soon. Very strong, hardworking folks.
Stick with your plans....

Yes, I saw that the reef had almost no damage. As soon as resorts are ready for visitors the reef is waiting. Also, there will be plenty of shallow diving for your younger ones. It is great.
