Howdy all, I am in need of some good up to date info on San Pedro. There are two uf us heading that way for the week of 11/18/00 through 11/24/00 to do some diving. I have been longing to stay in San Pedro for the last two months that I have been reading this board. My friend is a little worried about the conditions since Keith blew through and would rather stay at someplace that didn't have as much damage like Placencia. We need to make reservations for lodging in the next couple of days and I could really use all the help I could get in trying to determine if I push her to stay in San Pedro or give in a stay in Placencia. I know either place would be absolutely beautiful and soooooo relaxing, but after reading all these messages and stories I feel almost compelled to see San Pedro.
Thanks to all for the info everyone has shared about the island the last couple of months. Sea4B

Hi,

San Pedro (the downtown area) should be up and running by then. I would suggest staying at the Holiday Hotel. It's right downtown, on the beach, very reasonably priced, has a restaurant, bar & deli and the staff is great.

You can reach them at 011 501 26-2014. Considering their location, I would bet that the phone is working.

Have Fun!

Celeste is absolutely right. San Pedro is up and running for tourists. There are places to stay (with elect) and dive shops are running. Come on down and enjoy paradise!

Barefoot, good to see you, waiting to read your postings, when you return to San Pedro.
Paisano, will probably meet you at the airport. SMILES
