I saw a post referring to you as Emile. If that is your name, I am so tickled!!! That was my grandfathers name, whom I absolutely adored. He was from the island of St. Maarten in the Carribbean. It is also my son's middle name. Haven't met anyone else with that name besides them.... COOL!!!

Good to know there are a few people around that still use the old world monikers...it's a pretty old French name, but hardly anyone uses it anymore. More's the pity!

Where was your French grandpa from?? I think this is just so neat.
Mom sounds like she's getting nervous. If we both had the same grandpa, I would assume we were related, but the chances of that are slim to none. ALTHOUGH......... I did a search on the net for my distant relatives and I did indeed find a distant cousin residing in Germany who we now email back and forth. It was just a lark. Amazing that we even found eachother. The world gets smaller and smaller every day.
BUT.... If I'm related to Emile, then that would make Tammy and I devil children as well????????? Hmmmmmm.. I don't know......

I seriously doubt that we're related from a first name...my family hails from so many different countries and areas of the U.S. for lo these many centuries, that even if we had the same last name, it would be highly unlikely that we shared any DNA...but nice thought! But to answer your question, my grandfather was from Brooklyn, N.Y. born around 1896...
