I was down there about a week and a half ago....didn't see the barge ferry...don't know where it was or if it's disappeared.

There was a man with a canoe that was taking people across. Can't really use golf carts yet north of the cut....I don't think.
I've been told it's pretty muddy too so even by bike is difficult.

Will have to take a venture up there to see for myself. If I can manage the canoe ride....LOL....would hate to tip the damn thing over....how embarrassing....LOL [Linked Image]

ss - now, now. where is your self-confidence?the trick is BALANCING, distribution of the weight. if i can jump in & out a kayak (didnt ever think i could til last august) without tipping, a canoe should be a piece of cake for you. remember, distribution, baby!!

I was talking to my brother 1 hour ago..asked the same question about the ferry. He said they towed it back from a channel by the reef ( it was blown away). They have to rebuild the abbuttments on both sides of the cut before they can use it. I don't know how long that will take, but he said to plan on boating it to town and back when we come Nov. 24th.

LOL @ Jesse......I'll admit to being a little lopsided sometimes.

I get a picture of those guys that roll logs as a sport.

Maybe if I stand on the edges of the canoe and just balance using my knees like shock absorbers....hmmmm? [Linked Image]

Nooooo....I don't need to go north that bad...LOL

Hmmmmm......Distribution of weight and center of gravity????? The idea doesn't help me much..... When you have "Dolly Partons" it just doesn't seem feasible either way....... Got an inner tube???? [Linked Image]

Even if the ferry is in service there is no where to go anyways as 40% of The Reef Village property is under water permanently and there are numerous cuts after that
