We are bringing 26 divers to Blackbird Caye on November 11th and staying until the 18th at which time we will be coming to Ambergris Caye for four days. I had heard that the water temp. had dropped substantially since Hurricane Keith. Please advise us so we will know what kind of thermo protection we need to bring. Your imput would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

Ok Andy,

We will be going diving tomorrow to ck out the reef for ourselves. Tried to make it earlier but was to busy recovering boats and cleaning up. Will let you know how the temp is and what you will need to bring.

Somebody who actually checks it may disagree; but if I'm not mistaken, the water never varies more than 4 degrees. In the short time that I've been going down there(2 years), it's stayed about 80*F, give or take 2 +/-, even after Mitch...

Yes, I know the water temp does not normally change that drastic, but someone e-mailed me and said that the water temperture had gone down quite a bit. I look forward to hearing from Dawn @ Barefoot after her dive. THANKS!

Ok Andy,
Just got back from diving this morning. Water temp at 80' is 84 degrees. Beautiful and crystal clear. Lots of fish. Blackbird Caye is Beautiful. Hopefully you are diving with Ruben out there, he is great! We have his former partner with us. If you see him ask him about Roberto.
Where are you all staying and who are you diving with when you come to Ambergris? I could help you out on the diving end if you need it. Email me direct at if I can give you any more info. Hope to hear from you.
