Transparency International: Belize More Corrupt

Transparency International – that’s the name of the agency that compiles the corruption perception index. The index rates 180 countries ranks 180 countries by their perceived levels of corruption, as determined by expert assessments and opinion surveys. And according to the index, Belize is going from bad to worse. This country was ranked 99th last year and this year, it’s fallen to 109, tied with Argentina and Armenia.
The index rates countries on a scale from 0 to 10, with 0 indicating the highest level of perceived corruption; Belize is rated at 2.9. Denmark, New Zealand and Sweden are tied in first place with a score of 9.3 while Somalia is in the last place with a score of 1.0. Haiti is the lowest ranked in the Caribbean at number 177, Guyana is placed 126, and Belize is at 109.http://www.7newsbelize.com/sstory.php?nid=12255
