Retirement Planning

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.
With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1000.00.
With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.
If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer/wine one year ago, drank all the beer/wine, then turned in the cans/bottles for the recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to Drink Heavily and Recycle.

made me laugh too! And I own stock. wink I liked both that it's not accurate and that it advocates drinking and recycling - two of my favorite things!

I can never remember which is better . . . safe? . . . or sorry?

You are so right, Leah-Ann, the theory is more important than the numbers. I am one of those lucky few who can calculate their spendings in beers and wealth in wine bottles, and I even can never get that right!

These new times cry out for new ideas. First let me say in live in affordable housing for seniors. A three story, 38 unit. I,m on the third floor toward on end. A lady way down has a beer tap into the hall way by her door. Next to it is a coin slot. That's it. The other day the cable man was here and I asked him about it. He told me the lady has a micro brew and makes the best cold beer on tap. You put in two quarters thou the slot and they hit a tin cup in her kitchen. She has a little monkey that pulls the tap so she can nap. And then her cat gives the monkey a juju bead for a reward. And she has a trained parrot that cleans up after the monkey and puts it in the toilet. The cat even flushes. I have seen the lady a couple of times and she is well dressed wearing lots of gold and drives a new bmw.

For those more ecologically minded than the esteeemed gent(?) from NJ who is preoccupied with ambient temperatures of canine feces:

Nice ride. Back in the old days it would be called a short.
