Hey all, I am curious if there is any surfing on the island or perhaps a near by caye? I know the reef breaks the swells from the beach, but are there any breaks on the reef? I am looking for anything rideable! Thanks for the help and any info you can offer!

I havent seen any surfers or surf.
Got a lot of people riding sail boards and jet skis though.
Even got some of those new little one man power boats....those are really cool!

I was there for a week so am not an expert, but... from my experience, the only one who might find a useful purpose for the waves that break on Ambergris Caye is my grandbaby who likes to splash his toes in the bathtub.

That is a bummer! I guess this is a good excuse for me to learn to windsurf, now! Thanks for the info!! I really appreciate not having to drag a board down there for no waves! Thanks again!!

As an old surfer from Los Angeles, and I have the knobby knees to prove it, I can guarantee you that you will not be hanging ten on Ambergris. However, the windsurfing is great!

Bring your laptop....you can surf the web and no sharks will mistake you for a seal either!

My son is a dyed in the wool surfer nut and was initially disappointed that there were no waves in AC. But he found so many other "cool" things to do that he didn't miss it one day!!! Learn something new and have fun!!!
