Has anyone been to Journey's End to see how things are there? There's a group of 20 of us scheduled for the above dates. We've had tentative word through our travel agent that they'll be ready for guests at least by Christmas--does that seem pretty realistic?

This is a very special trip for me. I'm graduating in December with my master's degree (finally!) and 10 days in AC has been the reward I've been working toward for months!

P.S. I've been reading the message boards and have been extremely impressed with the spirit of the people of AC. It makes me even more eager to get there!

We just heard from Journey's End that they won't be ready until the end of January. Does anyone else have suggestions on where we can stay?

Yes! Banana Beach Resort just South of town is in perfect condition....they have a swimming pool, extrememly comfortable luxury oceanfront and poolside accommodations, access to several of the best restaurants and very friendly staff. For a group of 20 I'd ditto what Chris said. Victoria House might worth a toss too. There are several options in that area south, even if you had to split up for lodging. I think you're going to be right in the middle of the Jerry Jeff Walker thing which could present a very large problem finding a block of accomodations. I'd get workin' on it now and keep posted.

You'll have a great time...January is our favorite month for AC.

Rendezvous Estate. Although there was damage to Journeys End the crew was headed in days after we left to repair any damage. When you are a large resort and fully insured repairs happen quickly. I don't think you will have any problems in February.
