josh, haven't had a problem with that but never lived tropical more than 2 years at a time. what I find a problem is the weight (for transporting) and breakage. so I replace the glass with appropriate sized photo album pages. remove the black paper, insert the pic, trim to size of the glass and replace in the frame. sometimes may need an extra piece of thin cardboard in back. at office max here they have some pretty big ones 17"x14" in pkgs of 10 so I've been able to do most sizes of various wall hangings. I guess you could make them pretty airtight by sealing the edges with tape but I never have.
while they are out of the frames I also scan anything that will fit on the scanner.
