Nanuk from the north here is trying to figure out what SCUBA gear to bring. I've never dove in that area. What do most people wear while diving? I need to know which suit to bring. Shorty? .5 mil full suit? Lycra?

We did the Blue Hole last sunday just needed a dive skin, but I have my own layer of fat to keep me warm. It has been a bit chopy on top so keeping warm on the boat may be harder. [Linked Image]

we were there in august and hubby dove in a t-shirt and trunks. most folks prefer a skin. dont think you need more. two guys at our place got blisters from their fins, so bring some of those waterproof (nexcare) bandaids. they worked out well.
may i mention 2 things: he dove with dolphins at turneffe and would highly recommend it, and skip the blue hole, says it is so deep you dont really get much bottom time. he also saw sea turtles i think at hol chan. enjoy.

Will I dove in May with a shorty and was just fine. My question is the water allways rough? I had ten and fifteen foot swells every day out.Don`t usually get sea sick, But I did feed the fish more than once.

The main board says average water temp at about 80f. Our first visit starts this weekend so I don't really know. We are both taking skins and shorties. Been reading these boards for a couple of months, stayed off after the storm to let more important stuff get on.
