The Chamber meeting was held at the Blue Water Grill. Thanks so much Kelly
McDermott for taking great care of the Chamber members and guests. Chairman
Tom Vidrine opened the meeting at 12:00.

There were approximately 40 people in attendance for the presentation.
Reports:
1) Trash Bin Project
Tom reported that working with Terry Colbert and the South Neighborhood
Watch, 15 trash receptacles have been placed along the road and beaches to
the South.
The SACNW will be making a donation to the Chamber to help defray costs.
2) Christmas Boat Parade
Jan Brown gave The Third Annual Holiday Boat Parade will be held on Saturday
night, December 6, 2008! That's right - Saturday night! Beautiful lighted
boats will bring in the holidays by motoring the shoreline of San Pedro Town
from Boca Del Rio to Coconut's Hotel and back north starting at 7pm. This
new day and time will give our friends and neighbors from Caye Caulker and
the mainland a chance to enjoy this wonderful holiday tradition.
3) Neighborhood Watch Family Day
Everyone is invited to our first annual family fun day.
This year the SACNW is hosting the event to boost community
awareness of Neighborhood Watches and community policing. Please come join
us on Saturday, November 29th from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm at the San Pedro
Family Fitness Center (Tennis Club) and enjoy some great entertainment, good
food, drinks and fun for the kids.
Please review the attached advertisement and bring the whole
family. Watch for additional ads on Channel 7 and in local papers.
The pool and miniature golf course will be open.

4) Presentation by US Ambassador to Belize
The US Ambassador to Belize, Robert Dieter, and the Deputy
Chief, J.A. Dissily, were our guests, along with two members of his staff,
David Maurice Jones, Vice Consul, and Anna McFabzeas, Special Consular
Services Assistant. After general introductory addresses, various services
provided by the Embassy, there were questions from the floor.
5) Belize Chamber invites our Members to Economic Partnership Agreement
(EPA) Services Workshop
Our Members have been invited to the free Economic Partnership Agreement
(EPA) Services Workshop, scheduled for December 1st and 2nd, at the Belize
Biltmore Plaza Hotel. Below is more information on this workshop.
This workshop provides free entrance to anyone interested in attending. If

9) Annual World AIDS Day Solidarity Walk and Torch Run this Sunday
The San Pedro AIDS Commission along with WIN-Belize invites the general
public to its Annual World AIDS Day Solidarity Walk and Torch Run. This
event geared to show our solidarity to those infected or affected by
HIV/AIDS shall take place at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 30th. Gathering
place for this event will be at Central Park. Following the Solidarity Walk
and Torch Run - an all-day AIDS fair will take place at the park. Health
professionals will be on hand to conduct rapid HIV testing. In addition to
this an information booth, a food and drinks stall will be available.
Everyone is asked to join in this special day and help "Stop the SADness -
Stop HIV"
10) The Special Constable Training this Sunday
The Special Constable Training for applicants that completed the
application, background check and vetting process through the San Pedro
Police Dept has been rescheduled.
The class will take place at The Anglican School located just north of the
river cut ( toll bridge ) starting at 8:00 a.m. and will last until 5:00
p.m. on Sunday the 30th of November.
Approved applicants will need to PRE study the information provided by the
S.P.P.D. and bring the Special Constable Manual learning materials to the
class along with paper and pencil to take notes.
