Ca you drink in the streets in AC, or just in the bar? A friend is coming down a day later and we wanted to meet her on the dock with a drink. laugh

Also, still wondering if anyone knows about Tranquility Beach Homes????

You can...but it's not legal. No one says a thing.

I believe you can indeed walk around with alcohol on the streets and beaches of San Pedro. By law you are not allowed to be drunk in public - you can drink but not be severely intoxicated. And there is an ordinance preventing the driver of a vehicle from having an alcoholic drink while driving. There is a rule about no alcohol in glass containers being consumed on the streets and beaches.

Certainly meet your friend on the dock with a lovely tropical drink.

This is a vacation town - we love to party and as long as we are not offensive or falling over drunk most of us will not be hauled away to sleep it off!

I thought they changed the law a couple years ago? No alcohol in public places without a permit?

Keep your beverage in a cup, don't be a public nuisance, and you will have no problems.

You are talking about selling, not imbibing.

I'm pretty sure they did change the law (although I have been wrong once before) but regardless,

Yes AJ Bee, you can meet your friend with a cold beverage.

Thanks all! So no one know anything about that place? I guess that could be good or bad...

There are two properties down south, Tranquility Beach Club and Tranquility Beach House. They are essentially condos. Perhaps this is what you are looking for?

I have seen the police on several occaisions removing a bottle of beer or a cup of alcohol from persons in public, walking , riding bikes, and in golf carts, and making them pour it out.I think this started as a result of several alcohol related injuries from fights a couple of years ago.
I do not think anyone, including the police, would object to you greeting your friend with a drink on the pier! Have fun!
