We have just heard that our reservation for Jan. 12-15 has been canceled by the Seven Seas Resort due to their not being able to get materials to repair from damage. Will it be possible to find centralized, moderate lodging in January at all or should we cancel and try to come another year?

Any suggestions would be helpful. We are shocked!

Atticworks......you should be able to find something.

Just go thru the lodging section.....link at the top of the page.

A few of my favorites:

Sunbreeze...pool, A/C, restaurant, bar, beachfront...I don't recommend the dive shop next to them...not theirs...sorry.

Tides Hotel....nice rooms with fridge, A/C... full bath with TUB!....LOL....beachfront, bar, within 10 minute walk to town.

Lily's....budget....clean...A/C....fridge....beachfront...restaurant....in front of Amigos Del Bar Dive Shop.

Holiday Hotel...beachfront...restaurant....bar....gift shop...nice rooms with or without A/C...right in front of Bottom Time Dive Shop....which I highly recommend.

If you stay at any of these....you should not need to rent a cart unless you just want to tour around. They are all in town or within close proximaty.

Hope this helps! [Linked Image]

We too were cancelled at the Seven Seas in November and were lucky enough to stay at the Holiday Hotel. It's a great location, better than the Seven Seas (we discovered while there) and the staff is wonderful. We had wanted a condo so we could do our own cooking, but got a room with a frige at the Holiday and took our own hot plate and camping cookware and picnic plates. It worked out fine.
