I have been reading these boards for a couple of months and have noticed many of us are unable to find the "chat" rooms. Seems it may be a "JAVA" thing.
I am a member of a number of "egroups" that work very well. Not only can we reply to the board but we can reply to individuals, have chat room, take polls, etc. I have set up http://www.egroups.com/group/BELIZELOVERS

I understand that you have personal information BLOCKED because of some troublesome characters.
On the egroup that is easy to control, as a complete profile must be filled out, a request to subscribe and must be accepted. Should anyone become a problem they are easily denied access.
Please come on over and give this a try.
I will appreciate ideas to make this better and am will to listen to criticism in case I have offended anyone. Also, since some of you seem to be familiar with one or two characters who should not be allowed in, please send that information to me through this egroup. I would like to add someone who lives in A.C and someone from the states who goes there often as moderators. Any volunteers?

scuba lady, i will not be joining your group because i think you ask too much personal info. i'm in many groups but not ones that require all that just to register.

I do not have personal info blocked.
I have ISP#'s blocked. Unfortunately the idiot that loves to cause havoc is with AOL and many AOL users can be in the same Domain # in different parts of the country.

I never liked AOL.....not very good for tracking.

The people that chat in my room that use AOL....have a password that I have given them to identify themselves.

This problem should be solved momentarily.
Until then, everyone has learned to put him on ignore as soon as he starts. That button works quite well!

Poor fool just rattles on and they never see it.

I will only post this time in this forum about the chat because you asked about it....it really needs to go in the General Chat section though.
I know Marty is trying to keep things separate and relevant to each Forum.

Some information is required, but much of it is optional. The required information is there so that abusers can be reported and banned. :-)

hmmm..heyjude...if you aren't a member of egroups..then this information is asked. Once a member..you can join ALL kinds of lists that have interests like yours and information is not asked again. Just for the initial set up. It has nothing to do with Scuba Lady's list..but with egroups. At least I didn't have to fill anything out to join this Belize Lover's list.

I for one cannot get into sandshakers chat room and have been looking for somewhere else to go...

well i have no trouble getting into the chat room and didn't have to give DOB, zip code etc. and i am in some other egroups and never had to give that info
