My brother and his wife had major damage to their home from "Keith". We've been trying to send them things that they need...but are finding postage to be insane! A 19lb. package cost us $71 to mail airmail. Does anyone have suggestions on sending packages that won't take a month or cost a fortune?

It's gonna cost you no matter what but that seems high. Via US mail pkgs also have to be rather small but Air Parcel Express
http://www.apx-air-courier.com/cargo.html
has as reasonable rates as I've seen for small and larger pkgs up to 500 lbs. And they claim they can do door-to-door within a week. During the clean-up it took longer but it got there.

Don't forget that they will have to pay a very high duty on anything you send. It would probably be better to just wire them cash and they can get what they need in Belize City.
