I will be visiting San Pedro with several friends and would like to go snorkeling. We would rather not do a big boat with lots of people on a rigid schedule, something more relaxed and personalized would be prefered. Can anyone recommend a company or individual that I can get in touch with. Thanks....

We highly recommend Capt. Geraldo Badillo and his catamaran, El Gato.

We have been out with him four times now and have had a wonderful trip every time. There is something more peaceful about the trip under sail. You can reach him by phone or your hotel can make arrangements for you.

Alphonse rocks!

When there in November, my brother saw a 10 foot Bullshark inside the reef - thankfully, I was back in the boat!

Gotta agree with KC...love Geraldo and El Gato. Something very special about a day with him...never been disappointed after more trips than I can count.

Alphonse is fabulous too. But, they each have their own nitch. I go Alphonse for strictly the snorkeling at Hol Chan or Mexico Rocks gig... two plus hours in the AM or after lunch.

But, I'd go Geraldo for a relaxing sail/snorkle to Caye Caulker or the all day BBQ/ snorkle trip.

As far as I'm concerned, they are both the best at what they do!
