Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and Richie Valens.

So young, so talented.

What might they have done?

From last nights news. I have not been able to find out if 'Sir Paul' did show up or not. The other rumor was that the guest was to be Bruce Springsteen.

Gram Nash, Los Lobos and Los Lonely Boys, so a lot of cultural support for Richie Valens

azbob,
these guys were long before my time, but I had friends calling me for days after Stevie Ray's chopper went down.

Dan another one of my favorites. Damn I wish he was still playing. Love his stuff! He has influenced a number of young "rock n' blues" guys that are working their way up!

azbob,
when Berry Oakley and Duane Allman died, the world was a sadder place. I was shocked when John Lenon was shot. How could that be? John was with us forever! It was like hearing that the earth really was flat. Even hearing that Warren Zevon and Frank Zappa were dying broke my heart. So many talented people died early, while so many clueless boneheads seem to live forever.

At least I know that there'll be some good music in heaven if I can bluff my way past ol' Saint Pete.
