Hello! We are eagerly awaiting our Jan 1 arrival to Ambergris! Does anyone have any recommendations for half-day snorkel trips--where to go (is Hol Chan better than Mexico rocks) and which tour operator to use? Does anyone offer night snorkeling? Thanks!

We enjoyed night snorkeling at Hol Chan with Amigos Del Mar Dive Shop, different activity at night!
Daytime we go with Mr. Luz Guerrero, we like to fish and snorkel. Mexico Rocks is one of my favorite snorkel spots. Plenty of good snorkeling spots and tour guides. Take a trip to Caye Caulker for Lunch and stop for a snorkel or two each way.
Tres Cocos and the channel with the wreck are also good snorkel spots.
Belize it!

We have made four trips to Belize/AC. We have had several guides for diving, snorkeling, fishing, etc. All have been adequate. Most recently (Nov.) we had Willie Leslie from Sea-rious Adventures. We swam with sharks and rays, had lunch on Caye Caulker. Great day. Highly recommend Willie (besides, he could use the money, his Canadian-born wife is expecting a baby any day now, I believe).

I like Hol Chan better than Mexico rocks, but hey, any where along the reef is great! There is a cool deep channel across from Palapa Bar. Just a little south. Any where you go you will not be dissapointed.

Pick: Was it Willie or Billie?
Billie is the one who usually runs the dive boats and Willie is a pilot for Tropic Air.
Or at least that's how it was last January. They do have a great sense of humor, tease me all the time and like it when they can fool me.
Besides Willie/Billie was Ched the dive master?

Billie runs the dive boats, Gerald is the pilot and Willie is the owner/operator of Searious Adventures. He offers trips to Altun Ha, Lamanai, manatee viewing and snorkeling. Great guide!
Pick, Sandra had a baby boy last Thursday!

Thanks Wendy
Last year Billie tried to convince me he was Willie then my buddy met the pilot who said he was Willie. Those Leslie Brothers! Is Marvin still running the trips to Turneffe?
Who's running the Dockside Bar?

If you are looking for the serenity of sailing and the fun of snorkeling you have to call Geraldo Badillo (Telephone #2264) and go on a day sail on the EL Gato to
Caye Caulker stopping at Hol Chan also
Shark and Stingray alley for the best
snorkeling.

To Scubalady and Wendy: Thanks for the information, sorry I'm so late replying, have been out of town for the holidays. Willie is actually a Wilfred, I believe. And happy to hear their baby arrived, hope all are doing well. Wishing all our AC friends nothing but great things in 2001.
