What is an "OPC"?

As in "... I have condemned the work of the various OPCs here who proposition tourists to come into their resorts and take time share "tours"."

I thought a "consultant" was someone you voluntarily consulted, not someone who tries to force his services upon you.

I have heard of OPC as "off property contact" rather than consultant.

I also read the letter today and I am glad to hear that there are some good apples out there when there are some who give all OPC a bad wrap.

My father warned me about words beginning with CON.

I used to work for a company in England called Scicon, part of BP, subsequently sold and now defunct. A company largely run for the benefit of the pension funds of its directors. As we used to say internally the "Sci" part meant "Science". The "con" part meant "con".
