Has anyone stayed at Captain Morgan's, or have any info on what it's like? I've seen what the casitas look like but I'm wondering if it's really like that. I've been to the website looks pretty great and the testmonials well, they all loved the place. Looking for more. Or if anyone can recommend a place where a single fem can go alone for some R&R and catch in the sights... that would be appreciated. Thanks.

Captain Morgan's is a great resort but if you are travelling alone you should stay closer to town. You need to be able to walk out in the evening and have other singles to hang with. What kind of accommodation are you looking for?

Hello:

I agree stay in San Pedro Town. I am a Belizean/Canadian raised in Corozal. If you are looking for a good time stay at Rubie's Hotel, appeals to Belizeans and budget minded travellers...it is in the middle of town and great people (even my mom recommends it)..I will be staying there when I go hom ethis Christmas.

If you have any questions feel free to email me at atjorgen@ucalgary.ca

Thanks. I'm looking for something young and fun. Has to be by the water. The main thing that attracted me to CMs was the fact that I could rent a casita and be right there on the beach. I live in New York and I want to get away from the crowds. Something more local and less touristy would be attractive to me if it was right on the water. What's Rubie's Hotel like? A tower hotel or does it have cabanas that are separate from one another. I want to lose myself in another culture, another time. If you know what I mean.

Adrian? Is that you? Have a good trip! You are going to visit Mum too?

Ruby's is a San Pedrano owned and operated budget hotel. On the beach, close to restaurants/bars and boats for snorkeling. Their e-mail is rubys@btl.net

Hi Wendy and others:

Yes it is me (Wendy). Honestly I have never been to Ruby's personally....but I do know this...all my family (Belizean) stays at Ruby's when going to SP, it is on the beach and if my 19 year old cousin enjoys it as much as my mother it has to be good time.

Perhaps contact Wendy for further details.

Captain Morgan's just finished renovating the cabanas (due to Keith). They look very nice and are away from the crowds but only a 10 minute and $5 ride to town.

King beds, A/C, cd players, and they are ona nice stretch of white sand.

Capricorn Restaurant is a few yards away. This is one of the best in Belize for food.

Give them a holla.
