Just returned from our first trip to Ambergris Cay, Belize. We loved every minute of it. The trip was so wonderful it made returning to below zero weather difficult. Thanks for all the helpful information I read on your message board and thanks to all the friendly and helpful people of Belize. We stayed at Coconuts and were well pleased with accomidations and staff. We found out a little known fact, that people staying at Coconuts can order lunch from the kitchen. The food we ate from Coconuts was the best belizian food we had! The beach bar made the best Pina Coladas on the island. We enjoyed lounging in the hamocks and just relaxing. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We dove with Amigos Del Mar and they were excellent. My husband and I agree they are the best we have ever dove with anywhere. Tony was attentive to making sure every diver was safe and making each dive exceptional by pointing out the different marine life. The reef was very, very healthy and full of marine life. We saw lots of fish, colorful corals and sponges. We also saw lots of lobster and groppers. We saw sharks, sea turtles, and eels.
For a nice night out we would suggest Carusos, the food and service were outstanding. For a taste of true Belize try Papis dinner, very clean and excellent food at a good price. Again, we would like to thank everyone who made this one of the best vacations ever.
