I read something recently on the board that said the ferries quit transport at 3:00 pm. I hope that isn't true or I will have to bring my tent......................

Are you talking the island ferry which transports people from A.C. north to south and visa versa??? They are running according to the paper from 8:00a.m. to 10 p.m. The boats that go to Caye Caulker, B.City etc. leave around 7:00 a.m. and again the afternoon, I believe.

Hi, Thanks for your replies. I am still not sure when the ferry stops running from Belize city to AC. I have heard that it does quit in the afternoon and doesn't. I'm coming into Belize around 4:00pm and need to get to AC. If a Plane is the best way , do you know what the going rate is and with whom?(name) I'll call them to set something up. I need to read more I guess. Thanks

Leo.. you wont make any of the regular boat services from bz city to ac, there are several( Thunderbolt, Hustlers, The Andrea)But all leave for ac by mid afternoon. the plane is the way. Tropic or Maya/Island are the two "airlines" Ive always found them to be the same price (about $70.00us the last time I checked)and run at least hourly to AC I never bothered with reservations..relax and have a Belikin of two in Jets bar, they'l get you there... But if you have a group of folks or are the worry type both Tropic and Maya have on line reservations.. follow the links on the main page.

Thanks Deano, Sorry if I sound Like a Neurotic. LOL Funny thing is, we really didn't put much thought to it until now with 10 days to go. Just checking to make sure there won't be any problems on that end. I'll check out the airlines you mentioned and the Belikin at Jets. Thanks again, Leo

The last ferry has always been at 3pm. Not sure if that has changed since the hurricane. The last flights are at 5:30 and I would suggest making a reservation since you don't have a lot of time to play around with if you are arriving at 4pm. Both Maya Island and Tropic Air have on line sites or you can call Tropic at 800-422-3435. $93 or $94 R/T depending on the airline.
Have a great trip!

Thanks for the links and info. I'm waiting to see if both airlines have 2 seats for that day by e-mail. If nothing available, watch for 2 people in a small raft with a compass and flashlight to the west......LOL Leo
