There are 1 and 1/2 golf courses in Belize. If you golf, Caye Chapel is pretty much your only option.

Caye Chapel - 7200 yrds, par 72, links style
Roaring Creek - 9 holes course/cow pasture/flood plain
or
Unitedville - 1 hole, par 3, private course
Ambergris Caye - driving range, floater golf balls only.

I heard a rumbling that there is going to be a golf course on the Westside of AC within the next 5 years and Greg Norman is building it. Is this true or is it a myth.

let's hope it never really happens. there are tons of great activities, both land and sea, already available to those seeking a different kind of vacation in belize. smile

Sweetjane why do you not want the Golf Course to happen on the Westside. I think it would benefit everybody on the island. But then the westside will not be the best kept secret lol.

The west side is developing at a rapid pace now that electrical power is running over there...no room for a golf course on solid land. Not gonna happen!

I bought property over there last year and I have Limestone as my bedding on my property. Could they not dredge it to make it a secure golf course on land (Caye Chapel).

Dredge where? What about the ecology of the area?

I have never been to the Westside of the Island. My wife did and she bought property there. So I am not to familiar with the ecology of the area. So what you are saying is that it would be a bad idea and also not logical from an investors standpoint.
