i am a first timer to belize and am just starting my research on this.
i am looking into it for a honeymoon for this august and liked the looks of victoria house on the lodging portion of this site.
any feedback would be appreciated or other recommendations.
i am not really into roughing it (i.e. sharing bathrooms, etc.)
thanks!

Victoria House had a few problems after the
hurricane, but I'm sure all is in top shape
by now...the setting is lovely, quiet and
a perfect spot for the honeymoon thing...
dining area and food was wonderful!!! I don't
think you'll be disappointed! Congrats to
come!

I just came back from Victoria House in December and it was absolutely beautiful. I think it's the only resort I saw on the island that I could wholeheartedly recommend to friend after the hurricane (course I only saw the hotel surrounding and in the downtown area. The service was great, the pool is beautiful and the rooms were gorgeous. It's a definite honeymoon spot. It's a little far from town but they run shuttles all day and have free bikes.

Go there without hesitation. We ran into a member of VH's staff when we flew into AC last week, and he invited us to come down and see what they have done after the 'cane. It is as pretty as it ever was, and the new pool is, in our estimation, the best on the island to this point.

It's your honeymoon so walking into town (about 25 minutes) won't be a factor. Take the bikes if you must, or use their hotel shuttle.

You will not be disappointed.

I had lunch there over the weekend and the new pool and newly decorated rooms and dining area are simply fabulous. Lunch was also a cut above and very very good. I've been booking clients into VH for years and it's considered one of the best inns in the country. Great stretch of beach, a few miles south of town and away from human traffic. Dive shop on the pier and close enough to town you can go in and out whenever you want.

Great choice, book it.
